More than 750 beneficiaries and 370 volunteers and employees reflect the scale of the initiatives’ social impact
Bupa Arabia implemented a series of community initiatives during the holy month of Ramadan as part of an integrated corporate social responsibility program built on the values of “care, commitment, and collaboration.” The initiatives aimed to create a direct health and humanitarian impact for the most vulnerable groups in the Kingdom through a model that combines volunteer work, community partnerships, and measurable outcomes.
The campaign was structured around four main initiatives, adopting a multi-faceted approach targeting different community segments, with a focus on enhancing employee engagement, expanding partnerships with community and non-profit organizations, and linking implementation to clear performance indicators to measure social impact.
The campaign began with preventive health initiatives, followed by community giving initiatives, and concluded with humanitarian support initiatives at the end of the month.
Preventive Health
The Orphans Health Lounge“ initiative served as a model for preventive health, targeting around 500 orphans across 7 health service points. Services included screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, and body mass index (BMI), in addition to dental and vision check-ups, as well as general medical consultations. Health reports were also issued for beneficiaries.
The initiative was implemented in collaboration with Bupa CareConnect and orphan associations, with participation from company volunteers and medical teams. Bupa Arabia sponsored the initiative as part of its efforts to promote preventive health and expand access to medical services for underserved groups.
Community Engagement
On the community engagement front, the company launched the “Kiswa” clothing donation campaign, which witnessed strong participation, with more than 80 employee volunteers involved in collection, sorting, and preparation activities across several offices in the Kingdom.
The initiative resulted in the collection of 201 kg of clothing, equivalent to more than 1,005 items. These were categorized into men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing and redistributed to beneficiaries in multiple regions, relying entirely on employee efforts and without any direct financial cost.
Beyond its social impact, the initiative also delivered tangible environmental benefits. It contributed to reducing approximately 723.5 kg of carbon dioxide emissions, saving more than 1,206,000 liters of water, and reducing the use of around 60.3 kg of fertilizers and 40.2 kg of pesticides. It also helped reduce textile waste and its environmental impact.
The initiative was recognized by “Kiswa Plus Trading Company” in appreciation of its contribution to environmental sustainability through clothing reuse and extending the lifecycle of garments. This reflects Bupa Arabia’s commitment to sustainable practices and its support for Vision 2030 goals in enhancing environmental responsibility and resource efficiency, as well as reinforcing a culture of volunteerism within the workplace, as the initiative was fully executed by company employees.
Human Inclusion
As part of its commitment to social inclusion, Bupa Arabia implemented Bright Hands initiative, targeting Children with Disabilities across several centers in the Kingdom. The initiative reached more than 250 children, with over 250 cases benefiting, and the participation of more than 70 volunteers.
The initiative was carried out in collaboration with specialized centers to ensure that the children’s needs were appropriately met. Gifts were distributed ahead of Eid Al-Fitr to maximize psychological impact, with a focus on the principles of dignity, inclusion, and personalization.
Community Support
The company also launched the “Three Shares” initiative, targeting three main groups: orphans, service workers (security and cleaning staff), and humanitarian cases through the Ehsan platform.
The initiative provided direct financial and community support, with the participation of more than 221 employees, reflecting an expansion in the scope of social impact and outreach to diverse groups with varying needs.
Measurable Impact
Bupa Arabia relied on a set of performance indicators, including the number of beneficiaries, number of volunteers, volume of financial and in-kind contributions, number and type of partnerships, as well as the nature of services provided and target groups. This enables an accurate assessment of execution scale and impact quality, reflecting a shift toward linking community work with tangible outcomes.
Future Vision
The diversity and integration of these initiatives reflect a direction toward more structured and clearly targeted models, based on identifying beneficiary groups directly and directing support according to actual needs, thereby enhancing impact efficiency and sustainability.
This approach adopted by Bupa Arabia also highlights the ability of health and community initiatives to achieve tangible results when efforts are integrated between the private sector and specialized community entities, reinforcing the role of the private sector in supporting health and quality of life priorities, in alignment with Vision 2030 goals.
